Getting to heaven is as easy as A-B-C.

A.   You may think that you are good person and on your way to heaven one day because of your good works. Although that sounds good it is not true. The bible says "There is none righteous, no not one." that means that there is no one that is "good enough" to get into heaven because of their good deeds. The truth is that we are all sinners. The Bible tells us that "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." This means that we are all sinners, even the best person you know is still a sinner in the eyes of God. Lets face it, we have all told a lie, cheated somehow, had a bad thought, stole, disobeyed a parent, coveted, or perhaps done worse than these sins. That makes us unclean and unworthy to be in God's presence. The first step in getting right with God is to admit that you have sinned. Once you have admitted your sin, you must REPENT. To repent means to "turn away from sin" and have a desire to distance yourself from sin. If you are able to admit that you have sin in your life and have truly repented of your sin (told God that you are sorry for your sin and intend to do it no more) then you must see your need for God's forgiveness and that comes only by Jesus Christ.  E. God's love has made a way!  Romans 5:8,9 declares " But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

B. The Bible tells us "that the wages of sin is death." This isn't simply death where you cease to exist, but it is eternal damnation in a lake fire. Those who die without trusting Christ to save them and cleanse them of their sin will be judged and sentenced to spend eternity in hell and eventually the lake of fire. You can never leave the lake of fire and you will feel the pain and torment of it for ever and ever. That's the bad news. The Good News is that God loves you so much that he made a way for you to escape the punishment for sin. All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus Christ shed his blood and gave His life for yours. Believe that He is the Son of God, that He came to the earth as a man, was crucified on the cross, shed his blood, died, was buried and arose three days later. You must believe that Jesus Christ paid the price of sin for you and that he has cleansed you from all your sin. Believe that the only one who can save you from Hell and eternal damnation is Jesus. Thats all there is to it...just believe.

C.  The Bible says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The key here is to "confess with your mouth" to God. This simply means that you must tell God in prayer that you understand that you are a sinner and that you are truly sorry for sinning. You must tell God that you understand that you could never be accepted by Him because of your wickedness and sin. You then must tell God that you are trusting His Son Jesus Christ to wash away your sin. Tell God that you are trusting Jesus to give you His righteousness. Tell God that you believe and trust in him and that you are trusting no other to save you from the judgement of eternal damnation that all sinners will face one day. Confess and  be saved!
